Metacaulk® Pass-Thru Devices

are pre-firestopped and are

designed to allow electrical, data

or communication cables and pipes

to penetrate fire-rated floors and

walls. They consist of a square or

round section steel sleeve which

contains intumescent material.

When exposed to heat, intumescent

materials expand to form a insulating

char plug which restricts the spread

of flame, toxic gases, smoke and

water. Each device is supplied with

2 end plugs which are inserted

after the cable or pipe has been

installed to reduce smoke leakage.

The devices have an excellent “L” air

leakage rating The devices can be

opened for easy installation, retrofit

or removal of cables. The devices are

installed using specially designed

mounting brackets which clamp onto

the device and require no additional

attachment to the wall or floor.

Acudor Flush Access Door Distributor

Hello from e buildingproducts.  We want to start a series of blog post highlighting
the access doors of Acudor. In today's post we will begin with Flush Mounted Access Doors and move onto recessed, fire rated etc. 

There are 6 flush mounted access doors made by Acudor.
1.The universal Flush Buy the UF-5000

  This was Acudor's flagship flush door. The doors are either  16 gauge or 14 gauge  and the frames are either 18 gauge or 16 gauge depending on the size of the door. Rounded corners on the door help keep you safe. It has a continuous concealed hinge and a stainless steel screwdriver cam latch ( here is a picture )

2. UF- 5500

This door on this model is pressed into a pan shape providing a stronger option to the UF-5000. Rounded corners on the door provide another level of safety. It has a concealed hinge and is made of 20 gauge steel if the door is  12 x 12 or smaller. Larger doors are made with 18 gauge steel.
3. ED 2002

The ED 2002 is another Pan shaped flush mounted door but it has bendable mounting tabs on doors  12 x 12 or smaller. Made of 18 gauge steel on both the door and frame. Comes standard with Screwdriver cam latches and a concealed pin hinge.
4.  BP 2002  This door is a an Architects dream. The door is slightly oversized and tapered so the when it is closed it hides the frame so all you see is the door. Here is a picture

5 DW 5040 
The DW5040 is a Pan  shaped door with a drywall bead bead.

6. PA 3000
Plastic flush mounted door.
