Product Review of The Steel Network's Drift Clip DSL

      The Steel Network is a major manufacturer of connectors for the  light gauge steel framing industry.  All of TSN’s drift & vertical deflection connections Drift Clip and Drift Trak accommodate vertical deflection and lateral drift requirements of the structure. DriftClip and DriftTrak’s unique designs provide both an anti-friction and anti-seizure connections between the clip and the stud web surface. The DriftClip and DriftTrak line of products offer a variety of drift & vertical deflection connectors for all connection applications.


       DriftClip DSLis available to accommodate vertical deflection and lateral drift requirements at head of wall. Step Bushings pre-installed in vertical slots allow up to 2” vertical deflection (1” up and down). Horizontal slots accommodate 2” lateral drift (1” left and right-in-plane), with Step Bushings also preinstalled through the manufacturing process. Karp Associates RDWPD ceiling access door

            This weeks post is about Karp Associates  ceiling access door model RDWPD. This is a door that was developed to be an alternate to their RDW. The RDW is a recessed ceiling access door
where the  contractor would install a piece of 1/2 inch drywall into the recessed pan to provide a seamless flush look after the door was installed. The issue was that it took more time and the process created more mess depending who was doing the install.
       Karps' RDWPD has the piece of 1/2" drywall pre installed from the factory providing a fast and neat installation. As you know ,time is money and and contractors like it when you say FAST.

Demand Products Hot Knife review

       This weeks product review is about Hot Knives. What is a hot knife ? Have you ever watched a new shopping center being built and the construction guys are covering the building with Styrofoam sheets or large Styrofoam blocks. These sheets are part of a building system called EIFS. EIFS stands for Exterior Insulation Finishing System. These sheets of styrofoam have decorative cuts, grooves, and angles cut into them to make them look like large stone pieces. These cuts and grooves  are cut using a HOT KNIFE. There are a wide variety of different blades that can be used to create different

Banjo Product Review

This weeks product review is on drywall Banjos. A drywall banjo is a tool invented to aid in the mudding and tapping of drywall sheets. Banjos make quick work and are used in the commercial industry by large drywall contractors who require production.  The Banjo dispenses drywall tape and covers the bottom of the tape with a thin layer of drywall spackle, allowing the operator to cover a long distance in a short time. The Banjo operator's job is to apply the tape to the joints and a crew will be right behind him to use drywall knives to smooth out the joint. At E Building Products

Fire Extinguisher Product Review

    This weeks product review is on Fire Extinguishers. There are three types of fires and three types of Fire Extinguishers. A Class A is is a fire containing wood, paper or cloth. A class B fire is one containing a flammable liquid ( grease , gasoline etc). The third type is a class C which is an electrical fire.

   How to tell the differences between each type of  fire extinguisher.  A class A water fire extinguisher is usually a stainless steel canister with a pressure gauge on it.  A class B fire extinguisher is a CO2 pressurized canister without a pressure gauge. A Class C fire extinguisher
