JL Industries Smoke Vents

  This  weeks product  review is on J.L. Industries "Smoke Vent" . What is a smoke vent?  Just as the  name implies , it is a roof hatch with a set of double doors placed on a roof of a commercial building that will automatically open during a fire to vent any smoke.

   How does a smoke vent work ? All smoke vents have a  165 degree fusible link device that will open the doors automatically once the  fusible link is activated. When the air temperature reaches  165 degree, the fusible link will melt allowing the spring operated doors to open. The doors can be
reset and a new fusible link can  be installed, ready for the next fire emergency.

   Smoke vents can be be equipped with solid doors  as shown  above or can be purchased with acrylic domed doors to allow light in.
